2023-07-11: CODA oxygen sensors deterioration of foils

The RBR CODA oxygen sensors have shown a temporal drift and fail to detect low oxygen concentration. Some of the bottom waters where the gliders operate are known to be de-oxygenated. Water samples taken from periodic research vessel CTD casts show 0-5 μmol L-1, as do other oxyegn sensors used on gliders in the same area at the same time. However, none of the CODA sensors are able to detect the 0 μmol L-1 oxygen concentration and show a minimum value of 15-20 μmol L-1 in waters that should be de-oxygenated. All affected datasets have been flagged with the variable oxygen_concentration_qc. We are working to fix the affected sensors. 2023-04-26: CDOM drift

An ongoing issue affects CDOM in glider with the FLBBCD sensor deployed from 2022-09-01. In the affected datasets, CDOM values show a temporal decrease. From 2022-12-01, the protective copper plate covering the sensor was removed on all the gliders deployed in Bornholm and Gotland. This resolved the temporal decrease, but some sensors displayed a temporal increase. Investigation is ongoing and data quality remains uncertain. All affected datasets have been flagged. Check the variable cdom_qc. For more information, download the report https://observations.voiceoftheocean.org/static/img/reports/Quality_Issue_2_CDOM.pdf

2023-04-20: AROD oxygen sensors deterioration of foils

A fault has affected dissolved oxygen concentration values on all gliders with the AROD RINKO dissolved oxygen sensor deployed from 2022-12-01. In the affected datasets, oxygen concentration is around 100 μmol m-3 less than expected. This offset decreased during the mission at a non linear rate. All affected datasets have been flagged with the variable oxygen_concentration_qc. We are working to fix the affected sensors. For more information, download the report https://observations.voiceoftheocean.org/static/img/reports/Quality_Issue_1_AROD.pdf

2023-03-13: ERDDAP upgrade

ERDDAP server upgraded to version 2.23. This update improves the ability of the ERDDAP server to process multiple simultaneous requests, amonght other improvements. There should be no changes for the user. For more information, see the change list at https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/download/changes.html
